Let me ask you a simple question.  Do you want to get into great shape?  Well if the answer is a resounding YES, then the Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy of Wisconsin has the class for you.  It is called Cardio Kung Fu.

What is Cardio Kung Fu?  It’s a total body workout.  During the class you will be doing a variety of different exercises that will keep your “blood pump’ n and your heart thump’ n.” These exercises range from endurance type exercises, kung fu related exercises and light weight exercises that will give you a great sweat and have you leaving your school knowing you got a great workout.

And the best thing is… the class is FREE when you enroll in the Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu classes. At the Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy of Wisconsin we are always looking for ways to make you better.  Our mission is to provide you the highest quality instruction in Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu while giving you the best classes that constantly grow you as a martial artist and individual.

Some of the exercises are “old school” and the ones that really get your body moving.  While others exercises will be new to you.  But don’t worry, the class is structured with YOU in mind.  During the class there is a time to perform exercises and a rest period as well.  When performing the exercises within the allotted time, you can do as many or as few as you feel comfortable with.  But don’t slack because I’ ll be watching and will keep pushing you to reach your goals.  And as I said before, you will leave hear knowing you worked out. 

But I go to the gym, isn’t that good enough?

Going to the gym can be beneficial to you but usually when you get there, you are not motivated to workout or you socialize more than you workout.  That means you are there for one or even two hours!!!

In our Cardio Kung Fu class there is no waiting around for machines like in the fancy gym.  Your motivation will soar like an eagle because others are working out as a team with you.  And socializing?  Huh, you will be too busy working out for that!!!

The Cardio Kung Fu classes are great classes to get you out of a rut.  The classes have a variety of exercises that will keep you sweating and keep you challenged.  This means you will continue to reap the benefits of the class no matter what your fitness level is.  This class will help you get you in the best shape of your life.  With this workout you won’t need to spend hours working out or waiting for machines like you would at a gym.  Instead your time will be spent working out and getting results.

What can the Cardio Kung Fu class do you you?  Just look below:

What-specifically, does the Cardio Kung Fu class cover?

The Cardio Kung Fu class covers exercises to build endurance, strength and to increase your overall fitness level.  You will be performing a variety of exercises that will work different areas of your body.

You will perform exercises such as:

  • Mountain climbers
  • Up / downs
  • Push ups
  • Sit-up and crunches
  • V-ups
  • Bridging exercises
  • Kicking / Punching drills
  • Light weight and Body weight exercises

Pre-Session - Overview Instructions on How to Best Benefit From Training Experience

I want you to get the most out of this kettlebell program so please make sure you follow some straightforward advice on how to achieve the optimum performance when training.

  • Make sure you are injury free and well rested when coming to class.
  • You should come to class early do a light warm up and stretch before class.
  • You will want to make sure you do not eat a full meal before training in Cardio Kung Fu.
  • I don’t want you to rush though the exercises but to exercise at your own pace while still being able to maintain your breath.  You should be able to talk when doing the exercises which means your body has the ability to inhale and exhale air safely.  If during any of the exercises you need to slow down or stop you may do so.
  • Always listen to and follow instructions.
  • Please consult your physician before starting this or any exercise program  (see website disclaimer here).
  • Don’t come to class if are angry, tired, upset or otherwise not in a frame of mind to safely and successfully listen to and following instructions, perform the exercises and routines.

How can I best use this fitness program?

As with any training program you first need to set a goal.  This is something that 97% of the people fail to do and if this is not done, then you can’t expect to get optimal results.   I want you to succeed so please talk to me on how to set your goals.  I can provide you a worksheet to help you get clear on how to set goals, what your goals should be and how to obtain your goals.

You should come to class consistently and work towards the goal you have set.  It is important not to lose sight of why you are doing the class.  Review your goals often, ideally before each class so it becomes crystal clear in your mind. Work hard but also smart to achieve your goals.  Don’t take unnecessary risks (i.e. if you have an injury or feel very tired or sick don’t train that day) since these risks may actually move you away from your goals. Listen to your Sifu, he is here to help you and is looking out for your best interests.  Make sure you keep him aware of how you are feeling and if you have any concerns, injuries or aliments.

  • What is Cardio Kung Fu?
    Cardio Kung Fu is an exercise class that consists of a variety of endurance and strength exercises.  It’s ½ hour in length. 
  • Do Cardio Kung Fu provide an entire body workout?
    The kettlebell training class will definitely work your entire body from your calves and legs to your abdomen and core, chest, arms and back.  You will notice a difference in the way you feel and look in the mirror.
  • Are the Cardio Kung Fu exercises good for women?
    The classes are great for women who want to tone up and lose weight.
  • Can my children take the Cardio Kung Fu class?
    Students 12 years old or younger are not allowed to participate in the kettlebell class. 
  • Will Cardio Kung Fu class make me lose weight?
    The classes will help increase your endurance and strength.  By consistently coming to class and eating a healthy diet will help you to loose weight.
  • Any prerequisites?
    You must be free of injuries (i.e. back, shoulder, leg, hip, knee, heart, lung, spinal, etc…) You must demonstrate that you are responsible for yourself and others.
  • What about if I have injuries?
    People who have injuries are not allowed to participate in the class due to the weights being used, shifting of balance and general demand on the physical body.

    If you are a regular participant of the class and have sustained any bodily injury outside of the school, please let it heal before continuing the class.
  • The Cardio Kung Fu exercises are too easy, can I get a more difficult workout so I can continue to grow?
    Don’t you worry, if the class is too easy I will gladly make it more challenging for you.  From high school to Olympic athlete, I got you covered.
  • Will the Cardio Kung Fu workout be fun, will it be challenging?
    The Cardio Kung Fu classes are both challenging and fun at the same time.  We want to have both elements within the class so you continue participating and receiving the benefits that the class has to offer.
  • But Can I Really Do This?
    Yes you can!  The classes are structured with YOU in mind.  No matter what your physical fitness level is we have a workout for you.  We can also show you modified exercises that will let you get a good workout in with safer movement.

During the Cardio Kung Fu class you:

  • Exercise at your own pace.
  • Will learn the exercises and they will be explained so you can understand how to properly execute them using correct technique.
  • The classes will be challenging but fun.
  • During the class you will know how long to perform the exercise and know how long the rest period is.
